AJ HAJIAN for UBC Board of Governors

What is the plan?

With the growing number of issues around the student rights, I would like to focus my platform as your representative to the Board on only the most important items which are affecting students immediately:

• The governance model on non-academic lands; with the recent separation of UBC from metro Vancouver it is a fair expectation to consult with the biggest stake-holders on campus, the students, on the future sustainable campus planning.
• Public Transportation; did you know after downtown Vancouver UBC campus is the biggest destination in lower mainland? That being said, significant changes need to be made to the current lines and stops.
• On-Campus Housing; with the growing interests in local accommodation, reaching the target of 50% availability on campus should be among the highest priorities of the University.
• Fees; adjustments to the tuition fees and fund allocations for various scholarships and awards should be based on an accountable model satisfying the interests of both students and the University.
